Samuel Ralph Basile Jr.
Samuel Ralph Basile Jr., 65, of Glasgow died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville. He was a son of the late Sabation Sam Basile Sr. and Mary Lapari Basile. He was a member of Saint Helen’s Catholic Church.
He is survived by four children, Belinda Thurman (Charles), Sophia Basile, Sabatino R. Basile (Heather) and Giovanni W. Basile (Dulce); 17 grandchildren, Michael, Stephanie, Angelina, Nicholas, Analis, Evan, Evaughna, Alma, Lydia, Azra, Maria, Izabela, Sammy, Amora, Marisol, Gianna and Enzo; three brothers, David Basile (Ellie Geist), Ralph Basile (Jiggy) and Martin Basile (Kim); one sister, Joanne Hamilton (Desmond); and many nieces, nephews, special friends and family.
Besides his parents, he was preceded death by his wife, Alma Rosa Basile, and two brothers, Dominic Basile and Mark Basile.
A rosary service is at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, 2023, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, where the funeral is at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023, with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation is from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Sally Kay Copass, 80, of Glasgow died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, at her residence. A native of Chicago, she was the daughter of the late George and Gertrude Nelson Brandherm.
Sally was liked by everyone who knew her. She loved puzzles and was a collector of coffee mugs, having more than 200 in her collection. She enjoyed cooking, and some of her specialties were sourdough bread and cinnamon rolls. Her being a homemaker, she had been a longtime president of East Barren Homemakers Club and had also served two terms as president of the Barren County Homemakers. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Burkesville.
Sally is survived by her husband of 61 ½ years Carl Copass, her high school sweetheart; one daughter, Jody Davis of Glasgow; one granddaughter, Melinda Stinson (Daniel) of Cave City; one great-grandchild, Olivia Stinson of Cave City; two sisters-in-law, Pam Siler (Robert) of Glasgow and Bev Copass of Gibson City, Illinois; two nieces, Laurie Sanford (Fred) of Urbana, Illinois, and Deanna Leitz (Mike) of Gibson City, Illinois; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Harold Copass, and a cousin, Nancy Shroba.
Funeral service is at 11 a.m. Monday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 7 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Lonnie P. Winchester, 72, of Cave City died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2023, at University of Louisville-Jewish Hospital in Louisville. He was a son of the late Leslie and Ines “Love” Winchester. He was the significant other of the late Debbie Poynter. He was a farmer for many years and loved going fishing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by two sons, Lonnie Wayne Winchester (Judy) and George Walter Estes; four daughters, Tabatha Vincent (Clevie), Kim Cross (Kelvin), Crystal Lyne (Boyd) and Anna Poynter (Johnny); eight brothers and sisters, Leymon (Bobbie) Winchester, Ricky (Donna) Winchester, Danny (Kathy) Winchester, William Winchester, Stoney Winchester, Lonus (Donna) Winchester, Donna Winchester and Ann Trejo; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving son, Christopher Paul Winchester; five brothers, David Winchester, Mikel Winchester, Jessie Winchester, Bennie Winchester and Junior Winchester; and four sisters, Minnie Sue Smith, Helen Estes, Nina ‘Sissy’ Vibbert and Wanda Cross.
Funeral service is at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, 2023, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation begins at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
