Dorothy Mae Pedigo Carter age 85 of Cave City, passed away peacefully on June 25,2025, with her daughters and niece by her side. The Barren County native was born on July 27, 1939 to the late Lawrence and Vera Pedigo. She was married to Henry Lee Carter, who also preceded her in death.
Dorothy was a devoted Christian who found joy in reading her Bible and listening to gospel music. She cherished the beauty of hummingbirds, embraced her creativity through sewing and working as a homemaker, and delighted in playing school with her granddaughter, Aleah. Her greatest blessings were rooted in the love she shared as a mother and grandmother!
She leaves to honor her memory— her two daughters, Ruby Ellen Eatmon of Cave City and Ruth Ann Carter Sexton (Junior Gossett) of Horse Cave, that gave her deserving praise for being a loving mother and grandmother; daughter-in-law, Linda Carter; loving brother, Gene Pedigo of Park City; grandsons and nieces that assisted with her care, Isaac Sexton, Zackery Long, Elizabeth Sanders and Diamond Carter; furry grand dogs, Nibbles and Baby, along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her only son, Randall Lee Carter; her son-in-law, Raymond Eatmon; sisters, Ruby Bragg, Mary Pedigo Poole and Nancy Johnson; infant siblings, Shirley and Jerry, and several in-laws and extended family members that she adored.
