As part of their In Harmony Commonwealth Tour, instrument-equipped members of the Louisville Orchestra filled the Glasgow Square with live music for an hour on July 8.

Music Director and Conductor Teddy Abrams said “time and space gets smaller” since the program featured a wide variety of music — from the classics like Vivaldi and Beethoven to more modern pieces like those of John Williams and Merle Travis. The performance also included the premiere of a new piece composed by Oswald Huynh from the orchestra’s creators corp.

The state recently invested $4.3 million for them to continue the tour through 2026. To date, the Louisville Orchestra held 185 events in 45 Kentucky counties with roughly 40,000 people in attendance, according to the orchestra.
