Betty Emmitt, 82 of Glasgow died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023. She was born in Glasgow on Aug. 16, 1940, to the late Harry Oren Broady and Eva D. Broady (Pierce) and was raised by her adoptive parents, the late James Joseph Glover and Beryl Cook Glover. She was a retired housekeeper at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. Betty was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Betty loved talking to people and she never, ever met a stranger.
She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Allbright (Lawrence), and Rita Pierce (Gary); her grandchildren Cody Allbright (fiancée Kristie Wilson) and Katelyn Emberton (Cody); great-grandchildren Kaden Pace, Arlo Emberton, Allie Emberton and Addie Emberton. She is also survived by her neighbor and “adopted son,” J.C. Smith.
In addition to her parents and adoptive parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Ethan Pace.
Graveside service is at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Randolph. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home and Tuesday morning until time to depart for the graveside service. Alternate expressions of sympathy may be made to T.J. Samson Hospice.

Roger Dale Gentry, 69, of Glasgow died Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. A native of Barren County, he was the son of the late Garland “Junior” Gentry and Nelda Earlene Geralds Gentry.
Roger served many years as the manager of Richardson’s Hardware and did extensive independent electrical work. He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and trapshooting. He was a member of the Barren River Rod and Gun Club, where he had been in charge of the trapshooting range. He also enjoyed playing cards and billiards. He especially loved spending time with his family, and he tried to never miss an event that included his children and/or grandchildren. He attended Grider Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Norris Gentry; three daughters, Angela Langford (Jeremiah) of Bowling Green, and Melissa Bunch (Joey) and Lacie McGuffey (Drew), both of Glasgow; eight grandchildren, Parker Langford, Ethan Langford, Mason Bunch, Jaycee Bunch, Ayla McGuffey, Bailee Bunch, Maggie McGuffey and Holdon Bunch; four brothers, Kenny Gentry (Cindy), Maxey Gentry (Traci), Donnie Gentry and Kevin Gentry (Judy); two sisters, Linda Combs (Bobby) and Gena Williams (Phil); his mother-in-law, Rose Ella Norris; two sisters-in-law, Rita Powell (Steve) and Sandra Tracy (Glen); and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Will Turner “Bill” Norris.
Funeral service is at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and continues Tuesday morning at the funeral home.

Myrna Elaine Williams Harbison, 86, of Glasgow died Friday, Feb. 3, 2023. She was born April 11, 1936, in Barren County to the late George Buford Williams and Anna Susan Pedigo Williams. She was the last remaining sibling out of 12.
Myrna retired from Happy Valley School, where she was head lunch lady for 29 years. She loved all of her Happy Valley family. She was a member of Columbia Avenue Church of Christ. The last several years, she attended services at South Green Street Church of Christ. She was a strong woman who overcame many obstacles in her life. Her strength and devotion to her family and friends was what made her so special.
Myrna is survived by her four children, Deborah Walthall (Darrell), Jennifer Jordan (Mark), Richard Harbison (Beverly) and Chris Harbison (Staci); 10 grandchildren, Will Eller (Kristen), Zackary Walthall (Jessi), Justin Wells (Linsey), Tyler Wells, Victoria Capps (Daniel), Samuel Harbison, Cazada Harbison (Nick Kingrey), Lindsey Smith (Mark), Jessica Lacy (Dylan) and Dylan Thomason; 14 great-grandchildten, Haley Elrod (Seth) and Trenton, Alexadria, Nova and Hayden, Ridge, Sadie and Stella, Isabella, Ryker, Penelope and Cecilia, and Kiran and Ensley; four sisters-in-law, Betty Bailey Compton, Thelma Harbison, Rebecca Williams and Marlene Williams; two brothers-in-law, Denny Harbison (Sondra) and Stanley Harbison (Elaine); bonus children, Timmy and Patty Harrison; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Harbison of Dec. 11, 1966; three sisters, Gladys Fox (Charlie), Lucille Johnson (Cecil) and Frances Shields (Hoyt); and eight brothers, Joe B.Williams (Mary Alice), Frank Williams (Ann), George Williams (Thelma), Leroy Williams (Bernadine), Albert Williams, Clifton Williams, David Williams and Lewis Williams (Patty).
A special thanks is given to her caregivers, Sherry Mosier and Michelle Morgan; and hospice care, especially John Stephens, Amelia Kiser and Sonya.
Funeral services is at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in Neal’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation begins at 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Neal’s Chapel Cemetery Fund.

Jerry Michael McCoy II, 57, of Glasgow died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023, at home following a brief illness. Jerry was a graduate of Glasgow High School and had attended the University of Kentucky. He was a retired press operator at R.R. Donnelley & Sons and presently was employed at Lowe’s of Glasgow.
Jerry had a number of interests which included his continuing to be a fan of UK sports, playing golf and playing corn hole. He also enjoyed cooking, reading and bird watching. One of his larger interests was his show dogs that were German short-haired pointers. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Tina Rutledge McCoy; his stepmother, Martha Carol McCoy; his mother, Mary Hall Goodman (Joe); three aunts, Carolyn Manis (Buck), Charlene Wisdom (Barry) and George Ann McCoy (John O’Connor); two sisters, Julie Dickinson (Sam Day) and Jill Ordynans (Zack); stepchildren, Tyler Brown (Jessica Felts), Ben Brown and Jessica Brown-Mansfield (Jake), and their children; four cousins, Cara Carter (Wes), Blake Manis, Broner McCoy (Stacy) and Stacey McCoy (Joanna).
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Michael “Mike” McCoy, and one brother, Marc McCoy.
Funeral service is at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation is from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

James Ronald “Ronnie” Snawder, 81, of Merry Oaks died peacefully Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, at his home. Ronnie was born in Louisville on July 6, 1941, a son of the late Fielden and Maudie Price Snawder. He was a body man for Coop’s Automotive in Cave City for 36 years and a member of Servant Valley United Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Nova Michelle England, and her husband Robert of Merry Oaks; two grandchildren, James Howard England and his wife Hannah of Russell Springs, and Kimberly Sue Jones and husband Kevin of Railton; three great-granddaughters, Ashley Nicole Jones, Anna Aleeya Jones and Adaline Clara Jones; and a nephew, Fielden “Tooter” Snawder.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene (Sturgeon) Snawder; one brother, William Lee Snawder; and one sister, Patsy Sturgeon.
Funeral service is at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023, at Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel, with burial in Cave City Cemetery. Bro. Cary Brooks will officiate the services. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Rex Johnson, Jeff Hatcher, Kevin Jones, James England, Tooter Snawder and Justin Vincent.
