Anthony Janes, a longtime Barren County Schools employee who most recently served as the principal and director of the district’s College Street Campus, has been named as the new director of pupil personnel.
In this new role, Janes will “oversee attendance initiatives, collaborate with schools and families to address barriers to student success, and ensure compliance with state and district policies related to student enrollment and engagement,” a school district press release states.
“Anthony is a proven leader who has a deep commitment to supporting students and families,” Superintendent Amy Irwin said. “His experience in building relationships, solving complex challenges, and keeping students at the center of every decision makes him an outstanding choice for this important role. We are excited to see the positive impact he will have across our district.”
Janes holds a Bachelor of Science, a Masters of Educational Administration and Rank I in District Pupil Personnel, all from Western Kentucky University.
“I am honored to serve Barren County Schools in this new capacity,” Janes said. “I look forward to working alongside our staff, families, and community partners to ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed. Supporting student attendance and engagement is about more than numbers — it’s about building strong connections that keep students engaged in learning and life.”
Janes began his career with Barren County Schools in 2003 as a teacher, coach and athletic director at Barren County Middle School, later serving as principal at Park City Elementary before taking on his most recent role at College Street Campus, the press release stated.
