Sign-ups end today for assistance from Angel Tree Program

Community members who would like assistance with Christmas or holiday gifts for their children might be eligible to sign up for Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program.

Thursday, Sept. 25, is the final day to visit the Barren County Family YMCA and sign up for the program between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. To be eligible for the program, a person needs to bring identification, a SNAP benefits awards letter, children’s clothing sizes, shirt, shoes and pants, according to the program flyer.

The Barren County Family YMCA is located at 1 YMCA Way in Glasgow.

The Angel Tree Program “provides new clothing and toys for children of needy families during the holiday season [and] was created to ensure that children in need can experience the joy of receiving gifts during the holiday season,” the Salvation Army of the Central Kentucky Area states.

“By participating, you can help us bring smiles to many faces and support struggling families,” the Salvation Army states.
