The deadline for the Congressional App Challenge is fast approaching. The last day a high or middle schooler can submit their completed application is Oct. 31, according to Congressman Brett Guthrie’s Office.
In 2022, 2023 and 2024 students from Barren County Schools won the challenge.
The challenge is for students who reside, or attend school, in Kentucky’s Second Congressional District and can be completed either individually or in groups up to four. It provides students a chance to showcase their coding skills by creating an app, according to Guthrie’s office.
Kentucky’s Second Congressional District spans from parts of Jefferson and Meade counties in the north, to Barren and Warren counties in the south.
The winning app is eligible to be displayed at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. and will be featured on the House of Representatives’ website along with other district winners.
