Kaye Amos, Horse Cave

Kaye Amos, age 86, of Horse Cave, died Sunday, October 05, 2025, at Signature Health Care of Hart County. She was a Hart County native, and was a proud supporter of the Hart County Historical Society. Kaye attended the Horse Cave Christian Church, and the Horse Cave Baptist Church, and was an active member of both. She was also a big supporter of the Kentucky Wildcats, and was proud to bleed blue. Kaye enjoyed antiques, quilting, and was very artistic. She was also a member of the Sew Sisters Club of Horse Cave. Above all, Kaye loved supporting her family, and enjoyed hearing their stories.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Amos, Jr.; her parents, Charles Payton, and Magdalyn Cunningham Payton; one sister, Julie Ann Bryant.

She is survived by her three children, Chuck Amos, Suanne Jacobs (David), Robin Keller (Tim Hix); three grandchildren, Payton Keller (Adrian Johnson), Heath Amos, Cole Amos; four great-grandchildren, Cash Johnson, Myles Johnson, Hart Johnson, and Hayes Johnson; nephew; Bob Bryant (Jill); nieces, Jill Bryant, Ann Harris (Jim Bob), and their families and a host of loving friends.

A graveside service honoring Kaye’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 08, 2025, at 1:00PM CST, at the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Hart County Historical Society, or to the Gideons International.
