Barren County to host marching band competition this Saturday

Barren County High School will be hosting a marching band competition featuring 12 other schools this Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025.

The opening ceremony for the Barren County Marching Invitational is scheduled to begin at 11:45 a.m. with bands starting preliminary performances at noon. Entry is $10 and Trojan Band boosters will be selling concessions as a fundraiser.

Glasgow High School is set to perform at 2:15 p.m. and Metcalfe County will take the field around 12:45 p.m. 

Finals are scheduled to begin at 5:15 p.m., and the Trojan Band will perform a showcase before the final awards — as early as 8:30 p.m.

Judges for this Kentucky Music Educators Association sanctioned contest include: Pauletta Smith, Brent Burris, Alex Patterson, Tim Blevins, Craig Cornish, Trevor Ervin and Chad Floyd.
