Barren County Jailer Aaron Shirley said he was very pleased with the Barren County Detention Center’s recent inspection.
“We just had our jail inspection two weeks ago,” Shirley said during the Barren County Fiscal Court Jail Committee special-called meeting earlier this week. “And we scored a perfect score with the exception of one thing — and that was overcrowding, which we had no control over.
“I am very proud of my staff. I’m very proud of everything that we’ve got going on over there.”
Shirley added that “not having any dings” aside from overcrowding is “a big task to achieve,” and then thanked the jail committee members for all of their support.
