The Glasgow City Council is scheduled to meet Monday, Oct. 13, at 6 p.m. inside the council chambers at 126 E. Public Square.
The meeting will open with routine business, including the approval of the meeting agenda and minutes from the Sept. 29 special-called council meeting.
Parks and Recreation Director Eddie Furlong is expected to deliver a presentation updating the council on progress at the Glasgow Aquatic Park.
Under old business, the council will hold the second reading of an ordinance which would permit Union Coating and Chemical Industries and Tate Access Floors, Inc. to retain or receive a rebate of one percent of the 1.75 percent occupational license fee on specific wages paid to employees. The incentive would be contingent upon each company meeting criteria outlined by the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority.
Barren Inc. President and CEO Maureen Carpenter is also scheduled to provide an update on the ongoing progress of both industries.
In new business, Resolution 2025 will be considered. If approved, it would authorize the City of Glasgow to apply for a grant through the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s Department of Rural and Municipal Aid. The funding, if awarded, would be used for repairs and improvements to existing city roads, according to the agenda.
The agenda is as follows:
