A Barren County road will be closed for approximately two weeks for construction work, according to Glasgow-Barren County Emergency Management.

Rick Road is west of Glasgow and connects New Bowling Green Road — U.S. 68/Ky. 80 — with Bon Ayr Road. It will be closed for roughly 14 days to through traffic beginning on Oct. 14 at 8 a.m., Glasgow-Barren County Emergency Management stated. However, caution is advised for drivers who travel the road on Monday, Oct. 13 as “the contractor will begin moving equipment to the area.”

“Please use caution in the area and plan to take an alternate route during the closure,” the Glasgow-Barren County Emergency Management agency stated.

In July, the Barren County Fiscal Court magistrates accepted a $39,775 bid from Bluegrass, which Barren County Judge Executive Jamie Bewley Byrd said was coming from the 80-20 fund where the state covers 80 percent of the costs while the local government covers the remaining 20 percent.
