Jamie Bewley Byrd announced her intention to seek another term as Barren County Judge-Executive.

She initially announced her intention on her social media page, but she reiterated her sentiment at the Barren County Republican Women’s Club meeting on Oct. 23.

“I have learned so much in three years…. We’ve done so much in three years, but there’s so much more we can do in another four,” Byrd said.

Byrd won her election against two-time incumbent Micheal Hale in 2022 with 59.64 percent of the vote, according to the 2022 election results.

According to the state election calendar, the earliest date to file to run in next year’s election is Nov. 5.

The county judge-executive serves a four-year term. At the time of publication, no one has announced their intention to challenge Byrd for the position.

Until Nov. 5, Glasgow News 1 will only report on the reelection intentions of incumbent executives, the county sheriff and jailer.
