PRESS RELEASE
The Kentucky Organization of Superintendents’ Administrative Assistants has chosen Stephanie Spence of Barren County Schools as the winner of the inaugural KOSAA Knowledge, Understanding and Passion Award sponsored by American Fidelity.
Spence has served in her role as administrative assistant to the superintendent for 22 years.
“Stephanie is an asset to the board and to the district as a whole. Her organization and communication skills ensure that board meetings run smoothly, and she’s an absolute pro at keeping meeting minutes, understanding board policy and procedure, and keeping accurate, organized records. Beyond these practical skills, she has a kind, reassuring presence that impacts the climate of board meetings and the culture of the central office,” commented Bo Matthews, superintendent.
She is very active in KOSAA, has served in several officer roles, and currently serves as president-elect. She is also on the KOSAA Program Planning Committee and serves as a KOSAA mentor to people who are new to their administrative roles.
