An Edmonton, Kentucky, teen has been charged with murder, assault and wanton endangerment by Glasgow police as a result of a fatal vehicle collision that occurred in October.
Asa Howard,18, was arrested by Metcalfe County Deputy Jarrod Steele on Nov. 1 and charged with three counts of murder, one count of first-degree assault and three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, according to a Glasgow police press release.
Glasgow Police Department obtained an arrest warrant the day before Howard’s arrest in connection with the Oct. 17 collision that killed three teenagers and injured five others, according to the release.
Through the investigation, officers determined that Howard was driving the 2016 Nissan Altima at a high rate of speed on North Jackson Highway, and, failing to stop at the intersection with Veterans Outer Loop, hit another vehicle, which was driven by Timothy Houchens of Glasgow.
“Immediately after the collision, Howard fled the scene on foot before returning to the scene of the accident and was manifestly under the influence of an intoxicating substance,” the press release states.
This case remains under investigation by the Glasgow Police Department.
