Nancy S. Gibson, 83, Glasgow
Nancy S. Gibson, 83, of Glasgow died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023. She was born Sept. 23, 1939, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to the late Charles Clifford Bailey and Ellen Catherine Roach Bailey.
After graduating form Rule High School in Knoxville, Nancy attended Baptist Hospital School of Nursing and received her registered nurse degree in 1961. Shortly afterward, she moved to Berea and began to work at the hospital there, where she met her beloved husband of 56 years, the late Ray Allen Gibson. After living and working in Louisville and Occoquan, Virginia, they settled in Glasgow in 1974. She was a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church and the Amar Homemakers, cherishing any involvement and time spent with its members.
Survivors include her daughter, Rachel (Chad) Muhlenkamp, and two grandchildren, Whit and Micah Muhlenkamp, all of Glasgow; a brother, Bill (Carol) Brabson of Gulf Breeze, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Bailey.
Funeral service is at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home or a charity of the donor’s choosing.

Charles Wayne Hale, 79, of Glasgow died Monday, Feb. 27, 2023, at the Shanti Niketan Hospice House. He was born May 11, 1943 in Glasgow to the late Charles Turner Hale and Willie Belle McGuire Hale. Charles co-owned Charles T. Hale and Son with his father and worked as a carpenter. He loved classic cars, going to cruise-ins and car shows, and driving his red and white 1955 Chevy. He was a longtime member of Glenview Christian Church.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Eddie June Hale; two sons, Chuck Hale and Chris Hale (Carla); two granddaughters, Courtney Dolbeare (Timmy) and Camryn Hale; two sisters, Brenda Eaton (Larry) and Bonnie Pulliam (David); and stepmother, Lola Hale (James). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Funeral service is at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2023, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation is from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
