Judge-Executive Jamie Bewley Byrd announced publicly on her Facebook page that Mike Harmon, the current state auditor and one in a wide field of Republicans seeking to unseat incumbent Gov. Andy Beshear, will be speaking in the Fiscal Courtroom on the third floor of the county building following a 2 p.m. special-called meeting of Barren County Fiscal Court. Her post said it is a meet-and-greet event for him that is open to the public.
Another gubernatorial candidate, Daniel Cameron, the current attorney general for the commonwealth, scheduled a meet-and-greet in that same location in January, and Ryan Quarles, the current Kentucky agriculture commissioner, attended a private fundraising event in Barren County later that month, and Kelly Craft kicked off her campaign in her native Barren County in September.
A few days later, also in September, Beshear appeared in Glasgow on behalf of then-Judge-Executive Micheal Hale’s re-election campaign but also pointed to a few things about his own record that he wanted local voters to remember this coming November.
A listing of the candidates running for statewide offices this year is at this link.
