One Glasgow High School teacher will kiss a pig to raise funds for the newly established Glasgow FFA chapter.
During National FFA Week, which began on Feb. 21 and lasts until Feb. 28, ambassadors will be posted next to the high school cafeteria with a table laid with jars bearing teachers’ faces.
“We’re doing a ‘Kiss a Pig’ competition, so a teacher is going to have to kiss a pig,” said Noah Morgan, a Glasgow High School sophomore and FFA ambassador. “We have jars set up on a table during lunch [and whenever students] come in there they can vote for which teacher they want to kiss a pig…by putting money in the jar.”
The fundraiser lasts all this week, and the teacher with the most money in their respective jar will kiss the pig during the student-teacher games on March 13, Morgan said.
The money raised will go back to the chapter and help pay for travel expenses, said Mattea Wyatt, the high school’s agriculture teacher.
“We’re going to try and visit more operations and any leadership events…for the students, and FFA competitions,” Wyatt said.
