The Barren County Family YMCA has announced that Brandon Judd will serve as its new chairman and chief volunteer officer.
YMCA officials say the appointment reflects a continued emphasis on volunteer-led leadership, community access and long-term growth in Barren County and surrounding areas.
In this role, Judd will guide the board of directors, work to strengthen local partnerships and support the YMCA’s mission of youth development, healthy living, social responsibility and collaborate closely with staff and volunteers on priorities that include youth programming, childcare expansion, senior services and community health initiatives, according to a YMCA press release.
“I am honored to serve the Barren County Family YMCA and the families of this community,” Judd said. “Over the past few years, we have made real, visible investments in the future of our Y, including a $3 million facility renovation completed in 2023 that modernized and expanded our space to better serve our members. That same year, we added a dedicated childcare wing that now supports working families with safe, high-quality care. And today, we are continuing that momentum with the build-out of our new senior wing, designed to meet the needs of our aging population and keep them active, connected, and supported. These projects reflect our commitment to serve every generation in Barren County, and I am proud to help lead that effort.”
Executive Director and CEO Tara Bailey said Judd brings a strong commitment to service and a clear vision for community impact, adding that his leadership is expected to help the YMCA continue to grow its programs, expand facilities and reach more families across the region.
The YMCA board of directors executive committee now includes Judd as chairman and chief volunteer officer; Katie Billingsley as vice chair; Trevor Phillips as treasurer; Kylie Foushee as secretary; and Jackie Brown as assistant treasurer. The organization has also appointed three new board members to fill vacancies: Rachel Forrester, Corey Jackson and Christa Middleton.
