Roger Allan Humphrey, 62, Glasgow

Roger Humphrey

Roger Allan Humphrey, 62, Glasgow died Monday, April 3, 2023, at his residence. A native of Barren County, he was a son of the late Robert and Beverly Eyer Humphrey. He was an employee of Papa John’s Pizza.
Survivors include his wife Tina; three children, Jessica Lee Humphrey (Byron Hogan), Sierra Humphrey (Alan Chandler) and Cayla Humphrey; nine grandchildren, Jacob Humphrey, Isabella Gutierrez, Jordan Humphrey, Caleb Young, Chandler Young, Alicia Garrison, Kier Crain, Greyson Crain and Amelia Chandler; three brothers, Richard Humphrey (Sheryl), Robert Humphrey (Paula), and Russell Humphrey (Elizabeth); six sisters, Cindy Bailey (Tony), Cassandra Wilson (Johnny), Cathy Geron (Mike), Alice Ennis, Linda Allen and Geanetta Lappicola; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Felicia Kay Humphrey; one brother, Mike Humphrey; and three sisters, Tina Childress, Roberta Baker and Wanda Noblitt.
Funeral service is at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Bobby King, 65, Park City

Bobby King

Bobby King, 65, of Park City died Sunday, April 2, 2023, at Hart County Health Center. The Barren County native was born on Dec. 7, 1957, to Bob and Eva King of Park City.
Bobby was a former assistant pressman at R.R. Donnelley. He was a member of Park City Baptist Church.
Besides his parents, he leaves to honor his memory one daughter, Rachel Nicole King; brother, Greg King (Chrisn); and sister, Shari King Harper (Kirby), all of Park City; nephews, Todd Harper and Bruce King; nieces, Jessica Galecio (Manuel) and Brittney Harper; great-nephews, Abel King and Chase Bonnema; great-nieces, Camila Galecio and Kirbie Bonnema; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Graveside service is at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation is from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Patton Funeral Home Park City Chapel.

John A. Scalise Jr., 82, Glasgow

John Scalise Jr

John A. Scalise Jr., 82, of Glasgow died Friday, March 31, 2023, in Mon Valley Care Center, Monongahela. Born Oct. 10, 1940, in Clairton, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late John A. Scalise Sr. and Clementina (Roy) Scalise. A 1959 graduate of Clairton High School, John received his bachelor’s degree from Morehead State University and his M.Ed. from Western Kentucky University. He retired as a music teacher for Glasgow Indedpendent Schools and then worked until very recently for 27 years as a courier for South Central Bank. John was a member and lector at St. Helen’s Roman Catholic Church in Glasgow and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Glasgow. In his spare time, he was a co-director of the Glasgow Community Band and an avid sports fan – especially his hometown teams from Pennsylvania and Pittsburgh. He loved to work the sticks on Friday nights for Glasgow High School football and really enjoyed playing with his great-niece and -nephew Kennedy and Robert.
John is survived by his sister Lucille (Gary Moore) Herndon of Clairton; his nieces and nephews, Alexis (Robert) Trubiani of Donora, John (Shannon) Shar of Crafton, Donna (the late Tom) Watson of Pleasant Hills, and Gloria Costa of Jefferson Hills, all in Pennsylvania; his sister-in-law, Beverly Scalise of California; and also many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Jeanne (Henson) Scalise, who died June 6, 2010; his siblings Frank Scalise, Marie Gray and Esther Shar; his nephew, Robert J. Nystrom; and his brother-in-law, Joseph Herndon.
The family would like to thank the staff of OSPTA Hospice and Mon Valley Care Center for their excellent care during John’s convalescence.
There is no visitation for John as per his request. A Mass of Christian Burial is at 10 a.m. EDT on Monday, April 10, 2023, in Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Clare of Assisi Church, in Clairton. Interment will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, Clairton, Pennsylvania.
