A trailer carrying corn went off the roadway along Burkesville Road between Eighty Eight and Summer Shade on Tuesday morning after it came unhooked from the truck hauling it, according to the Barren County Sheriff’s Office, which provided this photo.

UPDATE: At approximately 3:50 p.m., Mike Houchens, public information officer for the Barren County Sheriff’s Office, said one lane is open and two BCSO deputies are on site directing traffic, but it could still be two more hours before both lanes are clear.
“So if anybody goes out there, please exercise caution because we’ve got personnel in the roadway directing traffic,” he said.
He said a tractor-trailer hauling shelled corn ended up off the roadway at around 10 a.m. Tuesday, and it was necessary to transfer the corn to a different type of trailer before they could tow the original one out of the ditch.
There are no apparent injuries to the driver, he said. The trailer came unhooked from the truck and went over to the side of the road, he said.
