The Park City Elementary School Site-Based Decision Making Council has selected Ben Jackson as the school’s next principal.
Jackson brings more than two decades of experience at Park City Elementary, where he has served as a classroom teacher, math intervention teacher, lead teacher, and most recently instructional coach. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with students, families, and staff while helping support instructional improvement and student achievement across the school.
A graduate of Western Kentucky University, Jackson holds master’s degrees and principal certification from the University of the Cumberlands. He has been recognized throughout his career for excellence in teaching and leadership, including being named Barren County Schools Elementary Teacher of the Year and Park City Elementary Teacher of the Year.
Superintendent Amy Irwin said Jackson’s deep roots in the school community make him uniquely qualified to lead Park City Elementary.
“Ben understands what makes Park City special because he has spent his career serving its students, families, and staff,” said Irwin. “He is a relationship-focused leader who cares deeply about children and believes in helping every student succeed. I am excited to see him lead the school into its next chapter.”
Jackson commented, “I want to thank Mrs. Irwin and the Site-Based Council for placing their confidence in me to be the principal of Park City Elementary. During the last twenty-two years, I have worked alongside staff and parents to help educate students who have walked through these halls. I was in the last eighth-grade class to attend this school before Barren County Middle School opened, and I always regarded my years at Park City as my favorite years as a student. My goal as principal will be to work hard to make Park City a special place for all students who attend our school.”
As he steps into this new role, Jackson will continue working with students, families, and staff members to ensure Park City is a school where every child experiences success.
