Barren County Fiscal Court plans to host two town hall meetings in July focused on planning and zoning, giving residents a chance to learn more about the process and share their views. The sessions are designed to provide information about how planning and zoning decisions are made and to gather public input on issues affecting local communities.

The first town hall is scheduled for Tuesday, July 14, at 5 p.m. in the gymnasium at Temple Hill Elementary School. The second meeting will follow one week later, on Tuesday, July 21, also at 5 p.m. in the gymnasium at Austin Tracy Elementary School.

The meetings will cover topics related to planning and zoning, offer an overview of the planning process, and include time for questions from residents. Joint City-County Planning Commission Planning Director Kevin Myatt described the event as a chance for the public to speak about their ideas and a way to inform the public on what zoning can and can’t do.

Public comment will be permitted at both events, and each speaker will be limited to two minutes. Fiscal Court leaders are encouraging all interested residents to attend, hear the information and participate in the discussion about how planning and zoning decisions may affect their neighborhoods. Officials say the town halls are intended to make the process more transparent and give residents a structured opportunity to offer feedback.
