Margaret Elizabeth Burgess Berryman, 90, Glasgow

Margaret Berryman

Margaret Elizabeth Burgess Berryman, 90, of Glasgow died Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. She was born October 29, 1932, in Barren County to the late Oliver Austin Burgess and Jennie Thomas Burgess. Margaret was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She loved tending to her flowers and shopping.
Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Pirtle; son, Tim O. Berryman (Sandra); three grandchildren, Tracie Ross, Christa Hess and Austin Berryman; two great-grandchildren, Amber Hess and Logan Hess; and one great-great-granddaughter, Ayva Hess.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Olin Berryman; one sister, Wilma Bewley (Tooter); one great-grandson, Nicholas Hess; and other family and friends.
Margaret chose cremation. A celebration of life will be scheduled later. A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

Charles Marvin Young, 94, of Glasgow died peacefully Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at his residence. A native of Barren County, he was a son of the late Charles Lovell Young and Bernice Gertrude Moon Young. He was a retired welder and was founder and owner of Young & Furlong Welding. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Eleanor Jean Young; two daughters, Rita Tew and husband Ray of Atlanta, Georgia, and Marla Fuller and husband Robert of Franklin; four grandchildren, Paul Tew (Morgan), John Tew (Eileen), Charlie Tew (Annette) and Sarah Fuller Dinwiddie (Lee Ross Dinwiddie); six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Young and Wayne Young; and two sisters, Anita Thomas and Ruth Barton.
His family wishes to extend a special recognition and thanks to his caregivers, Diana Jones, Sharon Cartmill, Carla Scott and Tara Glass for the excellent care given to Marvin.
Funeral service is at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hosparus – Barren River.
