Hunter Education Day is this coming Saturday, and the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife is offering classes.

The goal is to get new hunters ready and certified before hunting season starts this fall. Anyone 12 and older must complete hunter education before they can legally hunt in Kentucky.

The hunters education program is a one time course designed to teach safety and best practices while hunting. Classes can be taken online or in person, though those who take the online course must also complete an in-person range day.

To learn more, or to find a class in Region 1 or Region 2, visit: fw.ky.gov/Education/Pages/Hunter-Education.aspx

Barren County and counties east are in Region 2, while Warren, Edmonson and Allen counties are in Region 1.
