Glasgow Police say drivers should prepare for traffic safety checkpoints at multiple locations around the city later this month.
Officers will conduct periodic checkpoints within the Glasgow city limits between Aug. 5 and Aug. 31, according to the department.
The safety checkpoints will be held on streets that may include Columbia Avenue, West Main Street, North Jackson Highway and Happy Valley Road.
The department noted that checkpoints may be conducted on other streets as well and will not be limited to those named locations.
During the checkpoints, officers will enforce laws related to operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Police say they will also check for proper licensing of motor vehicles and operators, as well as valid registration and insurance.
Officers will be watching for seat belt and child restraint violations and will inspect for basic motor vehicle equipment issues when appropriate.
