Work continues on two major roadways into and out of Glasgow this week. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3 released this week’s traffic impact report, and U.S. 31-E south of Glasgow and Ky. 90 between Glasgow and Cave City are listed.

The work on Ky. 90 (Happy Valley Road) has been ongoing throughout 2026, and will continue at least until the end of this year. The work is on the road from Veterans Outer Loop in north Glasgow to Sanders Street on the south side of Cave City.

“Work includes alternating passing lanes, new turn lanes, drainage improvements, guardrail work, shoulder upgrades, and vegetation trimming,” the transportation cabinet stated in a press release. “The project is expected to be completed later this year.”

Work recently began on U.S. 31-E (Scottsville Road) and will continue for several months. It includes improvements from near J. Carter Road and Louie B. Nunn Expressway.

“Motorists should expect daytime lane closures,” the release stated. “Work includes drainage improvements, a new turn lane at Windy Hills Road, and minor roadway widening that will create a 4-foot centerline buffer between opposing travel lanes.”

All work is subject to change.
