Two members of the Glasgow Police Department have been recognized for their work supporting children affected by abuse.
Lt. Jabin McGuire and Police Advocate Briana Brooks were honored Friday by the Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center at its Honors Award Ceremony in Bowling Green, according to a social media post from the department.
McGuire received the Excellence Award for Diligence. The award recognizes his involvement with the multidisciplinary team at the Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center, which coordinates responses to cases involving children.
Brooks received the Community Advocate Award, also for her involvement with the multidisciplinary team at the center.

The multidisciplinary team is designed to bring together law enforcement, advocates and other professionals to respond to child abuse cases in a coordinated way.
They say the recognition highlights ongoing efforts to support young victims and improve outcomes for families in the Barren River area.
