Happy Valley Road from Cave City to Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home in Glasgow will be closed beginning at about 10 a.m. Tuesday morning.
The Glasgow Police Department posted on its Facebook page that the closure will be so that the body of Kentucky State Police Trooper Hayden Phillips can be returned home.
“The closure will allow for the safe passage of Trooper Hayden Phillips and his escort as we bring him home to Glasgow. As the procession passes, roads will be reopened in a ‘rolling’ fashion,” the post stated. “We ask motorists to please be patient, use caution, and be mindful of the law enforcement officers and others who will be assisting along the route.”
“Thank you for your understanding as our community comes together to honor Trooper Phillips,” the post stated. “We encourage community members who wish to show their support for Trooper Phillips and his family to gather safely along the route.”
“Please follow the directions of all law enforcement and emergency personnel who will be assisting with road closures and working to ensure everyone’s safety,” the post stated. “We appreciate our community joining us in showing respect and support for Trooper Phillips, his family, and all those who knew and loved him.”
Cave City police will manage the road closure in its jurisdiction, and the Barren County Sheriff’s Office will manage the road closure in the county between the two cities.
