STAFF REPORT
Glasgow News 1
The Mary Wood Weldon Memorial Library in Glasgow will open its fall book sale Oct. 15 with an evening for Friends of the Library members, followed by public shopping Oct. 16-17. According to the sale announcement, proceeds will support the library’s activities and events.
The members-only sale runs from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15. Shoppers can purchase a $5 annual Friends membership at the door to shop before the public sale begins.
Public sale hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, and Saturday, Oct. 17. The sale will take place at the library, 1530 South Green St.
The selection includes donations received since the spring sale, along with materials withdrawn from the library following its summer inventory, the announcement said. Those materials will be available as part of the fall sale.
The final sale day is Monday, Oct. 19, when shoppers can fill a bag with books, DVDs, CDs or audiobooks for $2. That session runs from 9 a.m. to noon.
Organizers will provide plastic grocery-style bags for the Monday sale so every shopper uses the same size. Shoppers are welcome to bring their own shopping bags for the members-only and public sales earlier in the schedule.
All purchases are cash only, according to the announcement.
