Carole Billingsley
Wilma Carole Jordan Billingsley, age 79, passed away peacefully October 13, 2026 at the Shanti Niketan Hospice House. She was the daughter of the late Reverend William and Opal Bartley Jordan.
Carole was a 1965 graduate of Temple Hill High School. She continued her education at Western Kentucky University and graduated with a degree in Applied Science in Nursing. Carole was a devoted Registered Nurse to her patients in labor and delivery, in home health, and in the psychiatric field. She was a member of Glasgow Baptist Church. Carole took immense pride in having a beautiful home, decorating for Christmas, and creating a home to gather with her family.
Carole is survived by her husband of 61 years, Walter; two daughters: Beth Groce (Brad) and Amy Geary (Darren); five grandchildren: Clay Groce (Samantha), Madeline Geary (Avery Stump), Connor Rich (Kale), Reagan Geary (Will Allen) and Brady Geary; step-granddaughter Cheyenne Mercer (Joe); great-grandchildren: Warner and Peers Groce, Parker Stump, and step great-grandchildren Quaid and Cami Mercer; three nephews: Jeff Simmons, Randy Simmons, and Tommy Simmons; and one niece, Debbie Reed.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Rose Maxey Simmons.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 18, 2026, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Union #2 Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, October 18, 2026, at the funeral home. The family would like to express gratitude to the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Carole’s honor to Shanti Niketan Hospice Home.
