Josephine Brewer
Josephine Nester Brewer, 81, of Austin, KY passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at her residence. She was born in Shelbyville, KY to the late Charles H. Quire and Dorothea Sparrow Young. She was a retired register nurse from T. J. Samson Community Hospital, former member of the Children Of The Americas, former over-the-road truck driver and member of Clifton General Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years: Harvey Brewer, Austin, KY; 2 daughters: Dianna Combs, Smiths Grove, KY and Linda Gail Watkins and husband, James, Scottsville, KY; 2 brothers: Alan Young, Pasadena, CA and Louis Young and wife, Cleo, Iowa; 2 sisters: Susie Perkins and husband, John, and Charlene Quire, all of Louisville, KY; 4 grandchildren: Angela Gropler (Sam), Tori Grider (Daniel), Destini Wilson (Cody) and Morgann Clark (Caden); 6 great grandchildren: Mya, Conner, Kepler, Liberty, Hudson & Bowen.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Shiann Clark; a great grandson: Brayden Jones and son-in-law: Darren Combs.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 2026, at Goad Funeral Home with cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hosparus. Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
