East Main Street in Glasgow remains closed between Franklin Street and Morgan Street, while construction limits the U.S. 31-W Bypass in northern Bowling Green to one lane in each direction with a center turn lane, according to Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3.

The cabinet’s traffic impact report covers Oct. 30 through Nov. 6. All work is subject to change.

In Glasgow, a signed detour directs drivers to Broadway Street/Columbia Avenue, Veterans Outer Loop and the Louie B. Nunn Cumberland Expressway. Motorists should plan for additional travel time during the East Main Street closure.

South of Glasgow, drivers should expect daytime lane closures on U.S. 31-E between mile points 8 and 12, from near J. Carter Road to near the Cumberland Expressway. Overnight paving continues this week.

The U.S. 31-E safety project includes drainage improvements, a new turn lane at Windy Hills Road and minor widening to create a 4-foot centerline buffer between opposing lanes.

In Green and Metcalfe counties, a U.S. 68 project will realign 1.2 miles from near KY 729 to KY 745. Plans call for 11-foot travel lanes, 4-foot paved shoulders and a new bridge over Caney Fork Creek.

The cabinet says the alignment is designed to reduce curvature and grade variations. Motorists should use caution in the work area.

In Warren County, the U.S. 31-W Bypass project runs from KY 234 to Park Street. The current lane restrictions apply to the construction zone; the completed road will have five lanes.
