A Florida man was arrested Sunday afternoon after fleeing a police stop in a semi-tractor trailer.

Barren County sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of a reckless driver on Burkesville Road westbound toward Glasgow, according to a sheriff’s office press release. The Barren-Metcalfe 911 Center had received calls about 1:50 p.m. of a blue semi-truck that was crossing into oncoming and “attempting to strike other vehicles.”

The semi was found on Burkesville Road near the Louie B. Nunn Cumberland Expressway. It turned onto the expressway where deputies attempted to make a traffic stop near Exit 11, the press release states.

“The driver failed to stop, leading deputies on a pursuit that continued onto Interstate 65,” the release stated. “The pursuit came to an end near Park City without further incident.”

Ernest Lee Corzell, 24, of Pinellas Park, Florida, was identified as the driver and arrested.

He was charged with three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree fleeing or evading police, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, first offense, and reckless driving.

There was no information on the Barren County Detention Center website Lee or when his first court appearance might be.
