The Joint City-County Planning Commission will have a public meeting, Thursday, June 15, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Glasgow City Hall building to solicit public comments for updates to the text of the Glasgow Zoning Ordinance.

Kevin Myatt, planning director for the JCCPC of Barren County stated how important public involvement is to their work, “The primary roles of the Planning Commission are public safety, health and welfare, and to fulfill those effectively we rely on the community to help us better understand what is needed. Unfortunately, we do not have as much involvement as we would like to see.” Attending the planning commission meetings, while encouraged, is not the only way to be involved, calls to the office or e-mails are another way to engage with the JCCPC.

More information about the commission, including the comprehensive plan for Barren County, can be found at jccpc-ky.com and residents with questions can contact the Planning Commission at (270) 659-0661.
