The first ever “Movies Under the Stars” event will be Friday, June 16, at Beaver Creek Park. The event is free to the public and includes free popcorn as well as pre-movie activities and games for families.
Nemak, in partnership with Glasgow Parks and Recreation and the Barren County Family YMCA, have planned for this event to span June, July and August as a way to give families in the area a “fun, free time to enjoy the summer weather and each other,” said Tara Bailey, CEO of the Barren County YMCA. “The YMCA, Parks and Recreation, and Nemak all have a shared vision of getting individuals and families together for the betterment of the community, especially for the kids.”
The movie this Friday will be Disney’s “Encanto.” The showing will begin at dusk, but families are encouraged to get there early to enjoy the activities set up. Families planning to attend should bring chairs or a blanket and bug spray is recommended.
