William Edward “Ed” Davis, 82, of Glasgow died Saturday, July 1, 2023, at his residence. A native of Barren County, he was a son of the late Charlie Willard Davis and Angie Mae Huff Davis. He was the owner of a tree service and a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include six children, Cynthia Holmes (Danny), Patricia French (Kent), Christine Davis, Tina Shugart (Robert), Lori Jackson and James Davis; two brothers, Donald R. Davis Sr. and Ronald M. Davis; two sisters, Betty Lou England and Carolyn Sue Payton; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Jackson Davis; one granddaughter, Brittany Shugart; one brother, Raymond Davis; and two sisters, Ruby Hagan and Jean Faulkner.
Funeral service is at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation begins at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Lois Jones, 97, of Austin died Sunday, July 2, 2023, at Somerset Nursing & Rehab in Somerset. Lois was born Aug. 12, 1925, to the late William Isaac Shields and the late Alie (Oliver) Sheilds.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Jones (Claudette), Kenneth Jones (Mary) and Carlos Jones (Teresa); son-in-law, Royce Watson; grandchildren, Chris Jones (Carla), Brad Watson (Julie), Matthew Jones (Tina), Casey Jones, Melissa Garrett (Travis) and Mark Hill (Lisa); and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by daughter, Glenda Watson, and grandson, Glenn Watson.
Funeral service is at 2 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2023, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery in Scottsville. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mount Olivet Church Cemetery fund.

Roma Eugene Moore, 97, of Glasgow died Monday July 3, 2023, at Shanti Niketan Hospice Home in Glasgow. Roma was born on Nov. 6, 1925, to the late Edgar Moore and the late Azzie (Emmert) Moore. He was a faithful member of Dover Missionary Baptist Church at Etoile and a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 20 of Glasgow.
He is survived by his grandson, Kerry Moore (Melanie); granddaughter, Kayce Woods (Josh); daughter-in-law, Sharon Moore; great-grandchildren, Emma Rae Moore and Josey Claire Moore; sister, Reva Parker; brother, Bob Moore (Sue); brother-in-law, Bill Jones; sister-in-law, Willie-Dean Jones; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Nelda Moore; son, Gary Eugene Moore; brothers, Barlow Moore, Ernest Moore, Charlie Moore, Cecil Moore and Ray Moore; sisters, Wilma Tipton, Nelda Geralds, Pearl Birge, Ruby Ray and Lou Hood.
Funeral service is at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2023, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and on Thursday morning until time for the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the DAV Chapter 20.

Samuel Wayne Talley

Samuel Wayne Talley

Samuel Wayne Talley, 72, of Nashville died Sunday, July 2, 2023. Born June 20, 1951, he was a native of Hart County and a member of Nashville First Baptist Church. He was a member of the Williamson County Community Band. He was a graduate of Caverna High School and Western Kentucky University and received his master’s degree from Vanderbilt University. He retired from AIG after 30-plus years. He enjoyed flying radio-controlled model planes.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Griggs Talley and Frances Smith Talley; and two sisters, Janet Talley Schneider and Tara Talley Schram.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Carolyn Talley; his daughter, Miriam Talley Brooks (Ryan); grandchildren, Damien, Elliot and Charlotte Brooks; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral service is at noon Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Winn Funeral Home, with burial in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Second Harvest Food Bank in Nashville.

Butch’ Wilson

Charles Glenn “Butch” Wilson, 75, Bon Ayr died Sunday, July 2, 2023, at his residence following an illness. A native of Barren County, he was a son of the late James Albert Wilson and Marie Traylor Wilson.
Butch was a mechanic who was a lover of horses and classic cars and tractors. He loved being with his grandchildren and teaching them carpentry skills while admonishing them to “do it the right way or don’t do it.” He was of the Baptist faith and was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam, having served with the 20th Engineer Brigade.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa; five children, James Allen Wilson (Betsy) of Austin, Texas, Jeremiah Wilson of Bon Ayr, Michelle Dyer (Gary) of Glasgow, Kendra Tinsley of Lexington, and Jenna Vincent (Jacob) of Bon Ayr; one brother, Joe Wilson (Linda) of Park City; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several special friends, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Robert Tinsley and Joshua Adam “Josh” Wilson.
Funeral service is at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial and military honors provided by Disabled American Veterans Chapter 20 of Glasgow in Bon Ayr Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
