Last summer, Shed Squad of Glasgow quietly opened its doors and got to know the people of Glasgow, Barren County and surrounding communities. Just this summer, the company founded on cornerstones of solid construction and integrity, has made itself more known.

Situated off Veterans Outer Loop, people from neighboring communities like Metcalfe and Warren counties are also easily served.

“All of our buildings are constructed, by hand, by skilled Amish and Mennonite builders. 98 percent of all of our buildings are built in Russell Springs, Kentucky.  The other 2 percent are built in Ohio,” said Jim Williams, manger of the Glasgow Shed Squad.

Colors, sizes, and other options are all on the lot for customers to see at Shed Squad off Veterans Outer Loop.

The extremely diverse and durable buildings range in size from, 8-by-8 to 16-by-40 and are made from American sourced products. The versatility of the structures are practically endless and Williams has helped customers in the region with a wide range of needs.

“They can be anything from garden sheds to store lawn mowers to tiny houses. Some people are using them for storage. Most people are wanting buildings for a man cave or a she shed. I have a customer purchasing three for a youth group. They an be anything from a workspace to a workout space,” Williams said.

Some of the structures are quite suitable to be turned into tiny houses.

Although they are not plumbed or electrified, they can be and Williams helps connect customers with contractors who can handle an expanse of needs.

Williams says he works for Shed Squad because he believes in the foundation the company was built on, which strikes a good balance between quality and affordability.

“For example, during the lumber shortage during COVID all the lumber prices shot up, and a lot of competitors drove their prices up to reflect that, but did bring them back down when lumber prices leveled out. We held off and kept the prices down, and allowed the market to change. We would rather do that than overcharge our customers,” Williams said.

Although the company is founded on old-fashioned and traditional values, they meet modern needs though offering popular paint shades, multiple layouts, and types of doors and windows.

The average price of the sheds ranges between $2,375 and $11,632. There are rent-to-own options, and the combinations of colors and customizations extensive, and they an be explored in person with Williams at Shed Squad off Veterans Outer Loop. They also have a Facebook page. However, Williams much prefers that customers stop by in person.

Customers don’t have to wonder about the options, they can see and walk through examples of each.

Showing how sure of their buildings the company is, one has been turned into the business’s office space.

“I love interacting with the people and being able to share the product. I couldn’t work in a sales position if I couldn’t support the product. This company is integral and it stands by the product,” Williams said.
