Glasgow Fire Department responds to accidental house fire on Bunche Avenue

On Nov.22 the Glasgow Fire Department responded to 207 Bunche Ave. on reports of a house on fire at 5:47 p.m.

E1 was first on scene to the address which was full involved. E1 pulled 2 – 1 3/4 in. hose lines to begin fire attack.

L2 and R2 arrived on scene shortly after to establish a water source and RIT. L2 and R2 crews assisting with extinguishing the fire.

E1 began fire attack from the outside of the structure achieving a decent fire knock down before removing the rest of the front wall from the mobile home. Once complete knock down of the fire was established GFD began overhaul and searching for fire extension under the floor.

The cause of the fire was due to a torch used for cooking being knocked over and catching the structure on fire. Fire appears to be accidental in nature. Also at the time of the fire the structure had no electric, water, or gas hooked up to the structure.

No injuries were reported by civilians or First Responders on scene.

GFD units were on scene for around 2 hours. GFD was assisted by Glasgow Police Dept. and Barren-Metcalfe EMS.
