Since 2022, the Barren County Quasquibicentennial Committee, led by chairman Jessie Crabtree, has met twice a month to plan and organize events to commemorate a tongue twister of a celebration. The big bash was in September, but the final piece of the celebration is a time capsule that will be sealed Wednesday.
“We really enjoy being able to celebrate the birthday of (Barren County) with our community,” said Vice Chairman Cynthia Watson.
After the vault is sealed, it will be given to Barren County Judge-Executive Jamie Bewley Byrd who will store the time vault in the fiscal court room on the third floor of the county building.
Those who want to place something in the time vault are encouraged to either drop-off their items at the Barren County Progress by this Wednesday at 3 p.m. or bring them to ceremony.
