The next phase in improving the experience for moviegoers in Glasgow appear to be moving forward with a full renovation of the town’s existing theater, according to a new update shared by local businessman Larry Glass.

Glass said construction pricing has been completed by Kyle Boston and the team at Alliance Corporation in Glasgow, and Crowne Pointe Theatre owner Rick Roman has officially signed off on the renovation plans.

Instead of building a brand-new complex, Glass said the focus is on a complete modernization of the current facility.

Under the proposal, the entire parking lot would be reconstructed, all electrical systems would be replaced, and a brand-new HVAC system would be installed.

Inside, all theater seating would be replaced with new reclining seats, and the renovated complex would feature seven cinema rooms.

The concept also includes a new game room and a dedicated party room for birthdays and special events.

Operational upgrades would include all-new theater equipment, a redesigned lobby with self-service concessions and the ability for customers to reserve tickets through a dedicated mobile app.

All carpet and flooring throughout the building would be replaced, the interior and exterior would be repainted, a new roof would be installed and new exterior digital boards would be added for movie advertising and promotions.

Glass said ownership of the Glasgow theater project would include the owners of Crowne Pointe Theatre, and Crowne Pointe would serve as the management partner.

He said all existing employees are expected to remain part of the operation under the new plan.

According to Glass, an official offer has been made to purchase the current Marquee Cinema property which is near the intersection of Veterans Outer Loop and Happy Valley Road on the north side of Glasgow. They are awaiting a response from the current owner.

Glass said the project is expected to move forward if the remaining pieces fall into place over the next 30 days.
