Michael Davis has been named assistant superintendent for Barren County Schools.

He has 20 years experience working for the school district, most recently serving as director of elementary instruction.

“I am incredibly grateful and honored for the opportunity to serve as Assistant Superintendent for Barren County Schools,” Davis said in a press release from the school district. “Serving this district is something I value greatly. I look forward to working alongside our schools, families, and community as we continue striving for excellence.

“Superintendent Amy Irwin has a strong vision for our district, and her leadership continues to move Barren County Schools forward in meaningful ways. I am excited to support that work as we help all students become life-ready.”

Davis graduated from Barren County High School in 2001 and has worked as a Barren County teacher, assistant principal, principal and director of instruction throughout his education career.

Irwin said Davis “cares deeply about this district and the people who make it special.”

“He’s someone who builds strong relationships and always keeps students at the center of his work,” she said. “We are excited to continue building on the great things happening across Barren County Schools with Michael serving in this role.”
