The woman who was driving an SUV that collided with a tractor-trailer Saturday in Barren County has died.
Two juveniles were killed in the Saturday morning two-vehicle collision near Cave City. Aleah Kroger, 35, of Dayton, Ohio, died Sunday, May 24, at TriStar Skyline Medical Center, according to a Thursday press release from Kentucky State Police.
Kentucky State Police Post 3 troopers were called to the scene of a two-vehicle collision on the interstate near the 53.2 mile point marker, according to a Saturday press release from state police. The crash had occurred before 7 a.m.
“A preliminary investigation indicated that a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by Aleah Kroger, 35, of Dayton, Ohio, was traveling north on Interstate-65 near the 53 mile marker. While traveling north, Ms. Kroger’s vehicle left the right side of the roadway and collided with a semi-truck that was parked on the right shoulder,” the press release stated. “Two juvenile passengers from Ms. Kroger’s vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. Ms. Kroger was transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital and then to the Medical Center in Bowling Green where she remains in critical condition.”
The investigation is ongoing and is being led by Trooper Grant Robertson. He was assisted at the scene by Cave City Police Department, Cave City Fire Department, Barren County EMS and other KSP personnel.
