As their summer programming begins, the Boys and Girls Club of Glasgow-Barren County is seeking various donations from the community.

The non-profit organization is accepting water bottles, popsicles, band-aids, sunscreen, children and teen-size swimsuits and beach towels.

Wade Copas, director of operations for the club, said these items will really help them out as they start their summer camp on June 1.

“Field trips every week,” he said of their camp that has over 200 kids signed up with an additional waiting list. “Fun activities and new learning experiences about things that maybe the kids aren’t familiar with — things that they will find a new interest in is what we’re all about.”

Copas said they are also seeking community donations for the club’s Brainworks station. They are in need of coloring books and creative materials such as markers, crayons and colored pencils.

The club is also looking for alternative seating like bean bags, floor cushions and flexible seating options.

Donations can be dropped off at 701 Columbia Ave.
