KLC admits fact-checking error in Cave City NDA article

Cave City officials are clarifying the record after the Kentucky League of Cities corrected a published article that mentioned the city.

KLC recently issued a factual correction to one of its articles that discussed Cave City and a data center project, According to a city statement. KLC acknowledged that an earlier version of the article incorrectly stated that Cave City officials had engaged in discussions pursuant to a nondisclosure agreement.

KLC has confirmed that the nondisclosure agreement reference was a fact-checking error. According to Cave City, KLC has retracted that specific statement from the article.

In its response, the City of Cave City is reaffirming that no elected official or representative of the city has signed a nondisclosure agreement. Officials say they have already stated that publicly when answering questions from community members about the data center.

The city says KLC’s correction further confirms that the earlier reporting about an NDA was inaccurate. Cave City leaders also say they appreciate the Kentucky League of Cities for moving quickly to correct the record.

The city adds that it remains committed to providing residents with information that is accurate, transparent and factual.
