Four people, including two small children, were taken to T.J. Samson Community Hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Scottsville Road in Barren County.
Deputies responded Tuesday, July 21, 2026, to the eleven-thousand block of Scottsville Road to investigate an injury collision involving two pickup trucks, according to Barren County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Adam Bow.
The preliminary investigation found that 2007 GMC Sierra driver Chasity McClard, of Scottsville, was traveling southbound when she saw a vehicle ahead of her turning left into a driveway. In an effort to avoid hitting the turning vehicle, McClard steered into the northbound lane. Bow reported she then overcorrected, causing the truck to lose control and spin.
At the same time, a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Gerald Kieffer, also of Scottsville, was traveling northbound on Scottsville Road. Bow said Kieffer tried to avoid the out-of-control truck but could not, and his vehicle struck the driver’s side rear quarter of McClard’s pickup as it spun.
McClard and two small children riding with her were taken to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for treatment of their injuries. Kieffer was also transported to T.J. Samson, where officials say he was treated for minor injuries.
The Barren County Sheriff’s Office says the crash remains under investigation, and no additional details had been released.
