Glasgow Preschool Academy has earned a 5-star rating from Kentucky’s All STARS quality rating and improvement system, according to Glasgow Independent Schools. Officials say the recognition represents the highest distinction available to early childhood education programs in the state.

Kentucky All STARS is the state’s quality rating and improvement system for early childhood programs. The initiative recognizes schools and centers that demonstrate strong performance in several areas, including teaching and learning, family engagement, leadership, health and safety, and continuous quality improvement.

District leaders say earning a 5-star rating reflects Glasgow Preschool Academy’s ongoing commitment to providing a strong educational foundation for young children. The program is designed to offer nurturing, engaging, and high-quality learning experiences that prepare students for success in preschool and beyond.

“This recognition is a testament to the dedication, passion, and professionalism of our preschool staff,” Superintendent Dr. Chad Muhlenkamp said in a statement. He added that educators at the academy work tirelessly to create meaningful learning opportunities for every child.

The 5-star designation is reserved for programs that consistently show excellence through evidence-based instructional practices, strong family partnerships, intentional learning environments, and a culture of continuous improvement, according to the district.

“Our preschool team believes that every child deserves the very best start to their educational journey,” Director of Special Education Belinda West said. She noted that the honor reflects the collaborative work of teachers, support staff, families, and district leadership, all focused on helping the district’s youngest Scotties learn, grow, and thrive.

Glasgow Preschool Academy serves the youngest students in Glasgow Independent Schools by providing a safe, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate environment. District officials say the academy helps children develop academic, social, and emotional skills that will support their success throughout their school years.

Glasgow Independent Schools reports that it remains committed to offering exceptional learning experiences for all students and ensuring that children have the opportunity to succeed from their first day of school.
