Farmers Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation and South Central Rural Telecommunications Cooperative are marking a new chapter in their long partnership with a shared service center in Munfordville. Both cooperatives are headquartered in Glasgow.

The cooperatives hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony recently at their new co-located facility at 1000 Main Street to celebrate the opening, according to a press release. The event brought together board members from both cooperatives, community leaders, employees and local residents.

SCRTC General Manager and Chief Operating Officer Jeff Eaton welcomed attendees and introduced SCRTC employees.

Eaton also reflected on what officials described as a strong, long-standing partnership between the two cooperatives and their shared commitment to serving the community.

Following his remarks, Farmers RECC President and Chief Executive Officer Chuck Bishop introduced Farmers RECC employees.

Bishop spoke about the importance of investing in local communities and adapting to meet the changing needs of cooperative members, according to the cooperatives.

The new Munfordville Service Center is designed to provide members with an updated and accessible space for conducting business with Farmers RECC and SCRTC. The building includes a new drive-thru, giving members another option for making payments, handling routine business and receiving assistance.

Cooperative leaders say the shared facility is intended to enhance convenience for members while keeping customer service close to home in Hart County.
