Bethesda Wellness and Recovery in Glasgow is accepting referrals for men with substance use disorders, according to CEO Dont’e Paul, who spoke about the organization in a radio interview. The approximately 90-day residential program operates at 3745 Roseville Road.

Paul said Bethesda began taking referrals about a week ago. Men stay at the facility while participating in a program that combines faith, personal responsibility, peer mentorship and practical life skills.

The curriculum addresses underlying reasons for substance use while working to reduce barriers to returning to everyday life, Paul said. Character development and long-term recovery planning are also part of the approach.

“It’s giving them the skills necessary to actually define and establish purpose in their life,” Paul said.

Paul said he has worked in the area’s recovery community for more than a decade, including work with court systems and other organizations. He described helping people rebuild their lives and reconnect with their families as a motivation for his work. Bethesda accepts Medicaid, Paul said.

Paul said his wife, Whitney Paul, helps develop and operate the program. He also serves as a pastor in Smiths Grove and described the recovery work as an extension of their ministry.
