A new FM radio signal serving Southern Kentucky is now on the air, expanding the broadcast reach of Zing! to additional communities across the region.

92.1 FM – WWZG, licensed to Park City, Kentucky, is now broadcasting the same programming heard on 106.7 FM and 103.7 HD-3. The Zing! format features a bright Adult Contemporary format, playing upbeat, feel good hits from today’s popular artists and favorites from recent decades.

The new signal expands the station’s coverage beyond Barren County into Hart, Edmonson, Metcalfe and Green counties, as well as surrounding areas. The station’s studios and broadcast operations are located at Commerce Plaza on the Square in downtown Glasgow.

Station Shifts to All-Christmas Format Through December 25

The launch of 92.1 FM comes as the station begins its seasonal Christmas programming. At noon Thursday, November 5, the station transitioned from its regular Zing! format to an all-Christmas music format under the temporary name Santa 92.1, featuring holiday music around the clock through December 25.

During the Christmas season, the station will serve as the radio home for several area Christmas parades, including those in Glasgow, Horse Cave, Cave City, Munfordville and Edmonton. Special programming will also include a broadcast featuring Santa Claus hosting from the station’s Glasgow studios, carried on radio and through SCRTC Channel 6, where children will have an opportunity to speak with Santa live on the air.

The station is scheduled to return to its regular Zing! programming on December 26.

“Adding 92.1 FM allows us to bring Zing! to more listeners across Southern Kentucky, strengthen our connections with communities throughout the region, and give our advertising partners the opportunity to reach a larger audience. We’re excited about the expanded coverage and the opportunity to introduce the new signal with a holiday tradition like Santa 92.1,” said Chris Houchens, general manager of Commonwealth Broadcasting.

Listeners can hear the station on 92.1 FM, 106.7 FM and 103.7 HD-3, as well as streaming online at either SokySanta.com or ZingFM.com.
